Release Notes for Disaster Recovery for Dell

This page lists the changes and fixes for Disaster Recovery Edition version 2.15.1.

What's Fixed in Version 2.15.1​

  • License Management Cards Show the Correct Capacity: Fixed a capacity display issue on the License Management cards, where some licenses, such as Disaster Recovery, showed a capacity of 0 / 0 TB.

  • SyncIQ Jobs Report No Longer Counts Transient Retries as Failures: The SyncIQ Jobs Report included the transient failed records that OneFS creates during its automatic retry of a sync job, so the failed job count was higher than the failures shown in the PowerScale UI, even though replication succeeded. These transient retry records are no longer counted as failed jobs.

  • Restoring a Pre-2.15 Backup Onto a 2.15 Appliance No Longer Stops sca.service: Restoring a backup taken on a release earlier than 2.15 onto a 2.15 appliance could leave sca.service unable to start, with a keystore password verification error, because the restored keystore password was not carried over to the new 2.15 password location. The restore now reconciles the password, and the service starts normally after the restore.

  • Readiness Lists Only the SMB Shares of the Selected Access Zone: On Disaster Recovery → Readiness, selecting an access zone could list SMB shares that belong to a different access zone. Each access zone now shows only its own shares.

  • Seamless SMB Failover Works for Access Zone Failover: Fixed an issue where, after an Access Zone failover run with Enable Seamless SMB Failover selected, clients could still get a "Catastrophic failure" error when accessing the SMB share, even though Eyeglass had removed and re-added the interface.

  • Domain Mark Jobs No Longer Fail on Compliance Mode Clusters Running OneFS 9.13.0.2: Fixed an issue where Eyeglass domain mark jobs failed after a OneFS upgrade to 9.13.0.2 on a cluster in compliance mode, even though the SyncIQ domains on the source and target clusters were healthy.

What's Fixed in Version 2.15.0​

  • Seamless Failover and SMB Data Integrity Now Respect igls-ignore Hints: Pools with an igls-ignore hint configured are no longer affected by interface removal during SMB Data Integrity or seamless failover checks. Previously, all pool interfaces on a failed-over Access Zone were removed regardless of this hint, which could remove the interface used for management access to the source PowerScale cluster during failover. Interfaces on igls-ignore pools are now left untouched by both checks, and the workaround previously documented for this behavior is no longer required.

Known Issues​

The following known issues have been identified in version 2.15.0.

  • Signing Into One UI Signs You Out of the Other: Signing in to the Old (legacy) GUI while already signed in to the New GUI — or vice versa — signs you out of the other interface after a few seconds. Signing in to the New GUI first does not cause this and then signing in to the Old GUI.
