Runbook Robot in Health Check

Introduction​

Health Check (shared, top of sidebar across all Cyberstorage for Dell products) is where scheduled self-tests and diagnostic tools live. For Disaster Recovery, the relevant tool is Runbook Robot — the same automated failover/failback testing feature documented in depth elsewhere in this Readiness Guide (see Runbook Robot for configuration and Readiness Checks for the DR Dashboard). This page covers specifically how Runbook Robot surfaces in the shared Health Check UI.

What Runbook Robot Does​

Per its in-app description: Runbook Robot "automates daily disaster recovery testing by executing scheduled failover and failback operations on isolated test data."

The "isolated test data" referenced here is the same mechanism documented in Basic DR Configuration (a specially named SyncIQ policy used for non-production validation, with minimal setup) and Advanced DR Configuration (a full Access Zone failover/failback simulation for production-like environments). Which mode is active depends on how Runbook Robot was configured — see those pages for setup steps.

How to Set Up Runbook Robot​

Configured under Health Check → Settings, in its own panel alongside Security Guard and Robo Audit (Data Security tools that share the same Health Check page), with the same layout: an enable/disable toggle, a Run Now button, and an Active Directory User sub-section (Managed Device — supports selecting multiple devices, Username, Password).

Monitoring Runbook Robot Jobs​

Runbook Robot runs appear alongside Security Guard and Robo Audit runs in Health Check → Runs, in a shared master-detail Job Tree/Errors view.
