Run Quota Jobs Now — Failover Recovery Steps

Introduction​

Quota jobs are applied automatically as part of a failover. This article covers what to do if a quota does not fully fail over. This step runs last in the failover sequence, after the steps described in Replication Policy Failover Finalize.

Quota Partially Failed Over​

Impact on Failover​

  • Disk limits from the quota are not applied on the target cluster.

Recovery Steps​

  1. Compare quotas manually on the source and target clusters using the OneFS UI. Consult the active alarms to help identify which quotas did not fail over.
  2. Recreate the missing quotas manually on the target cluster, and delete the corresponding quotas from the source cluster.
  3. If quotas continue to fail to create or delete, open a support case. You will need to upload logs to the case so Support can review the list of failed quota creates or deletes.

There is no data loss impact from this step, since the quota step runs last in the failover logic.
