Deprecated product
AnyCopy was deprecated in Eyeglass 2.9.0 (release date May 2024) and reached end of life in May 2025. Version 2.9.0 is the official last supported version. This page is retained for reference only and is not updated to reflect current releases. See Deprecation Notice - March 2024 for the full announcement.
Overview
AnyCopy was an add-on product license to an Eyeglass deployment. It enabled storage offload copies with role-based access, an audit trail, scheduling, and integrated data security via a SmartConnect- and SMB-share-aware user copy tool.
Prerequisites
- OneFS 8.2.1.x on all clusters.
- SyncIQ and SnapshotIQ licenses on all source and target clusters.
- An Eyeglass DR manager license on every cluster to be licensed for AnyCopy.
- The Eyeglass user account assigned the backup-and-restore permission on the Eyeglass admin role.
Installation Steps
- Deploy Eyeglass and add clusters following the standard installation guide.
- Install the AnyCopy license key through the Eyeglass License Manager.
- In Eyeglass, assign the key using the License Manager's Device tab and set the clusters to User Licensed.
- Configure RBAC roles. AnyCopy defined three roles: View Only, User, and Administrator. Create an RBAC role and assign it to AD groups as needed, or use the built-in user admin for the admin function.
