Getting Started - Smart AirGap for Dell
Introduction
Smart AirGap protects a copy of your critical data by holding it on a separate Vault PowerScale system that stays disconnected from the production network except during a controlled replication window. This section covers what you need in place before you begin and how to deploy the solution.
An AirGap deployment has three parts: the Eyeglass appliance, which orchestrates the jobs; the Vault Agent, which runs inside the vault and controls when the link opens; and the Vault and Production PowerScale clusters, paired by SyncIQ.
Installation
Before you deploy, review the prerequisites — platform compatibility, system requirements, and the network layout the Vault and Production clusters need. The installation guide then covers deploying the Vault Agent, registering both clusters, and verifying that replication runs end to end.
