Licensing and Software Downloads
Retrieving a Product License Key
A license code is emailed when an order is filled. It is required to complete the steps below, and is a unique string that can only be used once to bind a software appliance to the license.
Protect license keys using the backup function available in each product. Product license keys that are lost, or appliances that are deleted, require the sales team to assist in restoring licenses — this is not covered by the support contract and has no SLA. The sales team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM EDT.
You will need your product's unique appliance ID:
-
Eyeglass VM-licensed products (DR, Data Security, AirGap): SSH to the appliance as
adminand run:igls admin appid -
Data Orchestration and Data Insights (ECA-based products): SSH to the ECA as
ecaadminand run:ecactl version
Then:
-
Log in to the support site at support.superna.net.
-
Enter the appliance ID and the transaction token code from your license email, then click Request license. Copy the appliance ID exactly, with no leading or trailing spaces.
warningUsing the wrong appliance ID or token combination requires
sales@superna.netto assist in correcting it. Support cases cannot be used for license issues. -
A ZIP file downloads to your browser. Do not unzip it. If the download doesn't start immediately, a firewall is likely blocking the request.
Applying a License Key
For Eyeglass VM-licensed products (DR, Data Security, AirGap):
- Log in to the Eyeglass VM GUI as an admin user and open License Manager.
- Click Browse, select the license ZIP file, and click Upload.
- The upload validates that the ZIP matches the appliance and meets any prerequisites. If the license applies successfully, the desktop refreshes and any newly licensed products appear as icons; the license also appears in the license key list.
For Data Orchestration and Data Insights, apply the license key from within the product's own configuration guide, since the steps differ by product.
Requesting a Trial Key
- Log in to support.superna.net.
- Fill in the trial key request form with the product name and check the box indicating this is a trial request.
Trial requests are reviewed Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM EDT, and are typically updated within 24 hours. Some products require a proof-of-concept (POC) form.
Downloading Software
Software downloads (OVA/OVF images and offline installation/upgrade files) are available from support.superna.net and require a support site login — direct download links are not provided.
- Create a support account if you don't already have one.
- After logging in, scroll to the software download section and select Download the latest Superna software. This lists all available software and download links.
- Choose the software and click Download. Depending on the installer type:
- An OVF installer displays a EULA to accept.
- An Upgrade installer displays the target appliance ID.
- Select a download location. The installer's MD5 checksum is also displayed — compare it against the downloaded file to confirm integrity.
If the download doesn't start automatically, a firewall is likely blocking access to the download site.
