IP Pool Failover Configuration Procedures

Introduction

This guide outlines the steps to configure network mappings and assign policies to pools within an access zone, ensuring proper DR readiness for an IP Pool Failover.

Configuration Steps

Follow these steps to configure the required network mappings and assign policies to pools within an access zone.

  1. Configure igls and igls-ignore Mapping Hints For all pools in the access zone, set up the necessary igls and igls-ignore mapping hints.

  2. Verify Network Mappings in the DR Dashboard Navigate to DR Dashboard > Zone Readiness, and confirm that the network mappings have been configured correctly.

  3. Configure Advanced Network Mapping To map policies to pools as specified in the Policies-Pool Mapping table:

    1. Go to DR Dashboard > Pool Readiness.

    2. Click the Advanced Network Mapping button.

    3. Assign Policies to SmartConnect/IP Pools In the Select Access Zone window, choose the access zone for the specific source-target cluster pair.

Then, in the Assign Policy to SmartConnect/IP Pool window, select a SmartConnect/IP pool from the list.

Drag and drop the correct policy from the Available Policies section (under the Policy Name column) to the Selected Policies section.

Click Save after assigning each policy.

      important

Ensure that the policies are mapped to the correct pools.

      note

Policies with the Eyeglass Configuration Replication mode set to DFS will only appear for selection when the pool has an igls-ignore hint.

  4. Verify DR Failover Status Return to DR Dashboard > Pool Readiness, and ensure that the DR Failover Status displays no errors.
