Prerequisites

The following is a list of the requirements for the application server that will host the Data Security Essentials applications. Data Security Essentials is a peer-to-peer solution that allows multiple Data Security Essentials servers in multiple sites. It’s also highly scalable, so these are to be considered "minimum requirements":

Prerequisites by System​

Windows Configuration​

  • Operating System: Windows Server 2016 or later
  • Memory: 8GB+
  • CPU: 4
  • Disk: 60GB (system) drive (reserve 5GB for the application and logs)
  • Connection: For Windows we use local storage.
  • SQL Server: SQL Server 2016 or newer. 1+ TB storage (depending on policy configuration) as well as (SSRS) SQL Server Reporting Services 2016 or newer to review Reports
  • IIS: IIS with Windows Security and ASP.Net 4.x installed. .Net Framework 4.7.2 installed (Report Server only)
  • Superna Products / Components:
    • Superna Data Security Essentials Administrator installer which includes:
      • Data Security Essentials
      • Data Security Essentials Smart Policy Manager
    • Superna Data Security Essentials Reports installer
  • Windows Services to Monitor:
    • EASE System Manager
    • Superna Data Security Essentials Services
