How to Use Robo Audit

Introduction

Robo Audit continuously tracks user activities in an SMB-connected environment. It logs file and directory events, stores them in a database, and runs reports to count successful and failed events. This guide provides instructions on using Robo Audit to monitor and access audit data, as well as instructions for monitoring Robo Audit Jobs and Test Results.

How to Use Robo Audit

Prerequisites

Create a local PowerScale user or AD user account, to use as the Robo Audit service account.

important

The Security Guard service account can not be used for Robo Audit. These features require separate, unique service accounts.

Steps

  2. Navigate to Robo Audit Select the Robo Audit tab from the Active Auditing section of the sidebar menu.

  3. Enter the service account user credentials In the section labeled Active Directory User, enter the user name and password of the Robo Audit service account.

    • For Local PowerScale Users: Use the format user@clustername
    • For Active Directory (AD) Users: Use the format user@domain or domain\user
  4. Enable the Robo Audit task In the section labeled Settings, check the Enable Task box to enable the Robo Audit task, and then set the task interval. The default is once per day (1D).
