What’s New in Ransomware Defender 2.8.0

New in this release

Global and group thresholds

  1. Our users can apply a new threshold globally for all users and activate the feature with the following command:
igls rsw genericthresholds set --enabled=true

Additionally, when flagging an event as a false positive, users can choose to apply it globally on all users.

It is available now to apply thresholds to specific user groups. To activate this feature and apply a new threshold to a user group, use the following command:

igls rsw genericthresholds set --enabled=true

RWD on-prem New UI

  1. The updated UI is now available with banners and toggles, encouraging customers to explore the new interface and its functionalities.

  2. Users now have access to a dashboard presenting essential information. Upon launching the application, users can quickly review crucial data on alerts and check the health status of applications, including Security Guard.

  3. The alert overview page offers detailed insights and actions. It comprises two tabs: Overview and Recovery Manager.

  4. Using the new version of the Recovery Manager users can take action based on alert analysis.The new version of the Recovery Manager displays only directories that were affected.

  5. Users have the ability to review jobs for Ransomware Defender and Security Guard within the new UI.

  6. An overview page for Security Guard is accessible, allowing users to review jobs pertaining to self-tests and other relevant information.

Unified Ransomware Protection for VAST, Qumulo, and Powerscale

Superna is proud to announce that our tried-and-true ransomware defense capabilities for Dell Powerscale have been expanded to include support for the VAST and Qumulo platforms.

Features include

  1. Multi-platform protection available through the same interface.

  2. Ransomware Event Detection. Efficiently consume audit events from different platforms and identify ransomware events to prevent data loss and maintain system integrity.

  3. Ignored and Monitored Lists. Customize paths, users, and sources with the Ignored and Monitored Lists feature, allowing for tailored monitoring and management of data access.

  4. Enable learning mode to better handle false positives and automate learning processes on SMB shares and NFS exports.

  5. Snapshot Support. Easily take snapshots on NFS exports and SMB shares to ensure data integrity and facilitate efficient recovery processes.

  6. Critical Path Snapshots. Critical path snapshots can now be added to the Snapshots window.

  7. User Lockouts. User lockout is available to stop the nefarious activity. now to enhance security and prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data.

  8. Security Guard set up a- a self-automated testing appliance on different platforms. It will simulate will, which simulates an attack and reports back to ensure the environment is protected.

  9. Support for Recovery Manager. Allows users to reach back in time before an attack is detected to review and recover data.
